You may remember a few months back we covered the website www.dontshootthecat.com ? For those who didn't see it, this website was set up to campaign against the proposed 'Q62' legislation in Wisconsin, USA.
The legislation would effectively re-classify feral cats as a game animal, under the guise that feral cats allegedly kill a huge number of wild birds each year; such a huge number, in fact, that the allegation exceeds the absurd and evidence to back the claim up has been all but non-existent.
I recently re-visited the site and am pleased to see that after due and proper consideration by Conservation Congress the proposal has been dropped. The congress also confirms that they have no intention to pass the matter on to Natural Resources Board , the policy-setting body of the Wisconsin DNR.
Congratulations to all the campaigners involved, where would we be without such people?
